Update on the Stormwater System Improvement Project for Gateway Triangle Residential Area
For our friends living in the Gateway Triangle who have been looking at the paint on the street and tiny flags in front of their properties, it is almost time for the implementation of the Tertiary Stormwater System Improvement Plan! Yes! The CRA’s engineering firm completed the engineering design in early Spring and the South Florida Water Management District approved the permits to put in the interconnected swale and culvert system in the area. Bid documents are about to go public so construction of the stormwater system could begin as early as June, but may actually not begin until July or so.
The CRA will announce a neighborhood meeting so all residents can come and talk with staff, the engineer, and perhaps even the contractor about questions and concerns related to the project prior to construction commencing. Flyers will be distributed to announce this meeting. In the meantime, if you have questions about the project’s progress, call her at 643-1115.

THANK YOU TO OUR PARTNER!
The CRA funded the conceptual planning of this project at $88,000 as well as the design engineering and partial permitting at $170,000. Construction of the project will be funded by a $2.7 million federal grant from HUD administered by the Florida Department of Community Affairs. This grant, known as the Community Development Block Grant, is earmarked for the Disaster Recovery Initiative and the CRA is a sub-recipient to Collier County. The Department of Housing, Human, and Veteran’s Services (HHVS) administers the grant locally and is partnering with the CRA to ensure proper oversight. The CRA sends a special Thank You! to HHVS for all their help with project funding for our special community!
